Our People: North America
Jonathan R. Kasper
Associate Product Engineer

When I joined, I was really surprised by the level of commitment that every employee has to both the Moog culture and the quality of our products. The people here really stand by what they do and the way they do it, and it's been a great experience for me to become part of that.
I'm a product engineer for our Space and Defense Group. My role's to ensure that the products we design and analyze are produced and tested in a way that meets the needs of our customers. I'm in charge of the daily processing of hardware and its overall testing and qualifying. I'm lucky in that I interface with all levels of a particular program, including engineering, assembly and test, design, analysis, quality, sales, program management and product control. At the end of the day, it's my job to solve problems that can often occur during the many steps of the product development phase. I use my engineering background to solve these problems and help prevent future issues from arising, all the while keeping the customer's interests to the forefront. Being a product engineer affords me the opportunity to gain a valuable understanding of Moog and its processes in their entirety.
Management have fully supported my personal and professional development. I'm currently attending UB where I'm studying for my MBA, and I know that Moog will back me 100% in this. I've also been on numerous training sessions and seminars. I think that working at Moog allows me to be in an environment where I'm not just a number. The company's large enough to provide opportunities for career growth, but not so large that I'm thought of as just another engineer.
That said, my favorite memory about my time here isn't really work-related at all. I'm talking about the company picnics. I think it's very important to have a balance between work and one's personal life. The picnics are a nice opportunity to step back from the demands of the job and relax with your co-workers. The picnics are a tribute to the company culture and highlight just how much importance is placed on the employees.
