I first found out about Moog through my college careers service. I saw a position posted for an engineering internship. They were a global organization with a good reputation so I thought, why not? I was an intern at Moog for a year. In that time I was made to feel like a real member of the family and learned so much. However, I was offered a second internship at a large aerospace and defense company and thought it would be a good opportunity to broaden my experience.

It was unbelievable. It was like night and day. After seeing what it was like working at a different company, I had my heart set on returning to Moog. I knew I would never find a company that would ever come close in comparison. As far as I'm concerned there's no place like it. I mean, where else can you work where you get the chance to drop your middle management in a gunk tank? That's what happened when we were all raising money for the Hurricane Katrina victims.

Today I am a Materials and Process Engineer. Aside from working with a great bunch of people, the best thing about my job is the variety. It's the chance to do hands-on work in the lab such as investigating failure analyses, verifying production run operations, and certifying hardware. But there's always something new to be getting my teeth into. I'm also supporting a special processing project for our Asian supply chain. We've been developing heat treat and plating processes to support multiple programs overseas – and that's given me the opportunity to travel places I never thought I would go.
