Our People: North America
Frank Mullen
Project Engineer

I remember my first day well. It began with nervous anticipation. I hardly slept the night before as I contemplated my decision to leave my comfort zone and accept at job at Moog. Of course, Moog was one of the most technologically advanced companies around – and still is – so I knew I had to follow it through. That morning I was greeted by my supervisor, offered a cup of coffee and shown around. Throughout the day, people came in to introduce themselves and welcome me to the Company. By the end of the day I had to wonder why I was so nervous; that night, I slept like a baby.
Moog has given me the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and progress my career at pace. But I'm probably most in awe of the way things are done around here. I've always been impressed by the large number of employees that have been with the company for 30 or 40 years. It's a testament to the kind of place this is to work. You see, you're not just an employee here – you're part of a family. And I found that out first-hand after a family bereavement. I realized that what I had around me was not just a group of supportive co-workers, but also a network of empathetic friends.
Through five enjoyable years at Moog, I have risen through the ranks to become a Project Engineer. I now explore and apply new motor technology to our Brushless D.C. product line. My job offers plenty of challenges. And I enjoy every one. But it also offers plenty of opportunities to learn. I'm currently working part-time on a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and eventually plan to obtain a Master's degree in Project Management – knowing I have the support of Moog right behind me.
