Our People: Europe
Didier Lang
International Treasury Manager
Luxembourg
I remember my fist few months at Moog well. I had the incredible challenge of building a Finance Department that was up to the kind of standards found in the other sectors of the business. I knew the company was in good shape. It was growing and had been around for a long time. But there were some incredible challenges ahead. It took around six months to get the kind of people and processes in place that could drive us forward. And I was delighted Moog put their trust in me to deliver it.
When I say trust, I mean it. They don't just pay lip service to things like that here. You really feel it. I'd heard quite a bit about the Moog philosophy before I joined - I liked the sound of their approach. And I like it even more now I work here. I'm fortunate that I'm free to make the role my own and I'm encouraged to use my initiative. And I've been rewarded well for doing so.
Progression is a reality here. I used to be the Financial Manager of Luxembourg and got promoted to Treasury Manager in the International Group just over a year ago. I cover most regions outside of the US such as Europe, Asia and increasingly, South America. In fact, I look after a total of 25 sites. The great thing about working for an international company is just that. It's international. I get to travel a lot. But Luxembourg is a great base. It has a focus on innovation, especially in finance, and there's lots of networking opportunities that allow me to meet so many great people.
